“Come through in a hurry”…. are the first words to the song “Alabama Gal”, which the middle and upper grades have been dancing to in music class.  Music is in full swing, with students starting the year singing folk songs from America’s earliest days through the present.  We begin with this familiar genre as a way to feel connected to our roots,  and eventually find the connections with folk songs from other parts of the world.  Of course, we get to enjoy the great DANCES that often happened along with these songs,  so we can keep moving as we sing!
