Changing Landforms and Stop Motion Animation

This week the 2/3 class learned about weathering, erosion, and deposition and how some landforms are created through these processes. This built on their exploration of how plate tectonics change the land over long periods of time. The students then continued their research on how the landform they chose formed, and drew out a storyboard for their stop motion animation videos. We were fortunate to have Riley Bagnato, who has taken courses on stop motion animation and created many videos of his own, come in to give us some tips and help the students as they began molding the clay to set up for their videos.  They had a great time figuring out how to use the clay to show how their landform changed over time, and beginning to film their videos. Thank you to Riley for sharing his expertise with our class!

Riley and Ezra help Reesa with her stop motion animation video that shows how volcanic islands form.

Raegan helps Felix with his video showing how canyons form by erosion.
