Gold Rush Inquiry
The 2/3 class (in teams of two) have decided on the group of people they will research in order to write and tell a story from that group’s perspective. Today we started by collaborating with a partner about what we already knew about our group. Then we started our research by finding information about: how was this group of people was involved in the GoldRush and finding two pieces of evidence to support the idea of cause and effect. It was a very successful first research session.
As part of our skills building we are learning about perspective. We read a book about the Gold Rush that told three short stories from different perspectives about the GoldRush. This warmed up our minds about perspectives of the GoldRush. We then made a diagram about what these stories had in common and how they were different. The picture os hard to see but it was a fantastic learning moment.
