Narrative writing is what we, in the 2/3 class, call roller coaster writing.  The roller coaster is a good visual for the story elements.  We worked on personal narratives last quarter focusing on small events.  This is where we learned to story tell vs. list events in sequence.  

As we moved into the forth quarter the 2/3 class showed strong interest in writing fictional narratives.  This is a supportive follow up to show what we have already learned and a good check to see how we can become stronger writers.  All of the same pieces will be used in our stories:  hook, setting, topic sentence, problem, events, solution, strong closing.  This time around we added a theme so that our stories will teach a lesson.  Stay tuned…………………….
