Project 2!

The 2/3’s have have joined a camel caravan and are headed for a journey along the SILK ROAD.  As explores, we will learn about the Silk Road and it’s importance in trading and globalization.  Our project is called the Silk Road and it will last about six weeks. Students will learn about the Silk Road and trading, systems, supply chains.  Students will be involved in researching on the Internet and in non-fiction texts, visiting/face timing local businesses and preparing a visual presentation. Students will also learn practicing persuasive writing critical thinking and communication.

The project’s Driving Question, which focuses our work, is

How will exploring the exchange of goods along the Silk Road help you to persuade others about the importance of systems and supply chains?

We Started our inquiry into the Silk Road this week.  We made our need to know chart, which focuses on what we will need to learn in order to answer our question.  We also started our vocabulary word bank for this quarter and will add to it as we continue this project.

 Questions to ask your students:

What did you learn about the Silk Road from Brain Pop?  

What did you learn about the explorer Marco Polo?
